 ReefGen Releases Captive Bred Upside Down Jellyfish
From our friends at the Long Island Aquarium, news that Noel Heinsohn has raised their first few batches of Upside Down Cassiopeia Jellyfish for the new displays. Noel has been having a lot of success with growing these jellies, and once Justin Credabel started growing them too, team Reefgen decided they had enough stock to start marketing the jellies to retailers. These are very hardy, photosynthetic jellies that rest upside-down, on their bell and pulse rhythmically on the bottom. They benefit from feedings of small meaty foods such as Cyclopeeze and other such products, as well as a lower flow area with fine sand to rest on. The great thing about them is that you can see some of the offspring in the tanks at the aquarium to get an idea of what sort of environment is best for them.  If you’re ready to jump in and start a jelly tank of your own, ask your local stores to carry ReefGen’s line of captive bred animals.… More:
