fish New Study: Fish Feel Pain And Have MemoriesMost people do not associate fish with feelings. A new study shows otherwise. Scientists from Australia released a study last week, by Culum Brown published in the Animal Cognition Journal, which focuses on fish cognition. The study shows that fish can feel pain and recognize other fish, just like mammals do. The researchers analyzed past studies done on fish and compared them to other reptiles and mammals. The studies revealed that fish had very developed senses, and that many fish have memories. The study also expanded on fish social systems,  and the mutual relationships fish can form with other fish. Brown compares the pain receptors in fish to those in humans and suggests fish feel pain as do any other vertebrates. MORE
